About this deal

I want to add that if you HATE (in all caps) this book and say that this is a confusing mess that you couldn't finish I wouldn't blame you. Under her other writing persona of Caro Land, Caroline has stayed in with me to chat about Convictions and you can read about that this blog post. for a change, but past that I don't think it needed nearly half of the book to show that she had a rough childhood and a traumatic experience to cause her to kill a man in cold blood.

And can we ever account for works of genius, that so often appear to have sprung into the world fully formed? From the New York Times bestselling author of The Surgeon and The Apprentice comes a chilling new novel of suspense featuring Boston medical examiner Dr.Maybe it will come across easier because names will be changed, but being an American not familiar with more common German names I had a hard time keeping up with everyone. I'm so pleased they made Cora and her husband more likeable and more conflicted characters than the novel originally has them. But when she goes to take her own life, she ends up instead taking that of a man at the lake she is about to drown herself in. The brutal crime appears to be without motive, and the elderly nuns in residence can offer little help in the police investigation.

But there was more to this society than Sin could have imaged, especially involving his true love interest, Elli.I struggle with books that have been translated because I don't know if they haven't translated well, or if I'm just not into the book. But once you get to the meat of book, you start to understand that Cora’s version of the truth is severely distorted and damaged because of psychological trauma.

As their lives were uncovered I found myself embroiled in their stories and increasingly hooked into the narrative. I had a hard time getting through the first 100 pages, and felt bad that I forced my friends to read this.

Elli has been trained for the wrong reasons unknowingly, served alone to the predators by her own mother. These two had to fight tooth and nail for the other, so many obstacles stood in their way, many they couldn't trust, it was like an obstacle course they had to navigate to determine who was friend or who was foe, so it definitely kept things interesting. the plot's seriously fucked up, like i'm surprised elli's still functioning in society after everything.

It was something added for the TV show to echo, perhaps, some of the more twisted content of the book.Because it isn’t the whodunit type of book, rather one where you find out why the main character acted the way she did, I thought I’d give it a try after some time had passed. Stalker alert: he even had cameras in her room, but surprise, he couldn't keep an eye on her when danger lurked nearby.
