About this deal

The TOZO NC9 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Wireless Earbuds offer a bit of a different design if you like ones that don’t have a stem. They can last up to 10.5 hours on a single charge. But they have had issues with keeping a charge for a long time. Should I buy the SoundPEATS T3 wireless earbuds? Connectivity is seemingly fine. The buds advertise EATT (Enhanced Attribute Protocol) which is an improvement on GATT (Generic Attribute Protocol). To cut through the jargon, it reduces race conditions and improves latency, and this was clearly evident on the T3, with lip sync on anything I threw at them. During my testing, playing AAC from an iPhone at medium volume, I got closer to 7.25 hours. This means that depending on how many charges you get out of the case, that maximum would be between 43 and 50 hours. Even assuming this is the best-case scenario, that's still plenty of battery life. Hopefully this preamble provides more clarity on the SoundPEATS journey - note, this is just my interpretation, and is not from SoundPEATS themselves.

However, the manufacturer has saved on the audio codecs because the high-resolution Qualcomm aptX codecs are completely absent. Only SBC and AAC are offered. The manufacturer also does without a wear detection that pauses the music when an earbud is removed. If Customs Duty is payable to your territory, you'll be responsible for paying it to the authorities, so SOUNDPEATS isn't involved in this process. Whether Customs Duty is payable, and by how much, depends on a whole lot of different things. For example, many countries have a 'low-value threshold' below which they do not charge any Customs Duty. The older stem-based in-ear offerings, the Q and TrueCapsule, were superseded by the T3, which added ANC and Bluetooth 5.2. Then they also added the H2, the dual-driver (but non ANC) BT 5.2 traversal. The T3's ANC and transparency mode (aka Passthrough) help make up for those shortcomings, as does their adoption of Bluetooth 5.2 for an extremely solid connection. I'm also happy you can use either earbud on its own, which is a lot more useful day-to-day than you might think. SoundPEATS have set themselves an impossibly high bar to maintain now, and it is hard not to feel sorry for them that this release has come under unfair criticism, despite being, on the face of it, a credible upgrade to the Q, adding ANC at a very affordable price. If you also choose the right size of the ear tips, the passive noise cancellation is also quite convincing, because the T3s seal very well.

There are positive things to report regarding the workmanship, because the Soundpeats T3 doesn’t make any mistakes here. Both Ladeeuti and the Earbuds themselves feel quite valuable and robust. Of course, you should not expect the quality of a much more expensive product, but the build quality is convincing considering the price. In terms of sound mixing, the Soundpeats T3 are once again trimmed for listening fun. Accordingly, especially the basses show extremely present, but fortunately without overdriving or blending the other frequencies.

A BES2500 chip and Bluetooth 5.2 technology help to keep these headphones charged for longer. You get 5.5 hours with a single charge and additional 2 hours from the charging case. That leads to around 19 hours of playtime time possible from these headphones. The mic built into the headphones is also quite good. While I didn’t use the internal mic all that often, it does great for voice commands connected to my Apple devices. Soundpeats T3 Review Impressions Also, it is confusing to critisize them for having weak ANC compared to the T2 - they are a totally different form factor and chipset, and not even advertising stronger ANC anyway. Plus, if you don't know what's coming next - maybe SoundPEATS also have a full hybrid ANC stem-based product released soon too, in the same way Tronsmart released the Apollo Air and Onyx Apex at the same time - then it might make more sense. So these factors need to be taken into consideration - don't believe every review on YouTube, no matter how accomplished the reviewer is (and how many followers they have). As is the case with most true wireless earbuds, the Capsule3 Pro use silicone tips to provide a tight fit in your ears. This keeps the earbuds from falling out, but is also important for noise cancellation as well as the overall sound of the earbuds. The tips on the earbuds worked for me out of the box, but there are two other sizes included in the box. Firstly, SoundPEATS make it very clear in their marketing material that they only reduce up to 24dB. Given a busy street is often between 50-80dB it follows that you're going to hear 'something'. And outdoors, whilst they do struggle a little, as you would expect, with a good fit, is it THAT much worse than, for example, the 1More Comfobuds Pro at three times the price? I don't think so.
